Mashup Score: 1GRADE summary of findings tables enhanced understanding of values and preferences evidence - 11 day(s) ago
We conceptualize patient values and preferences as the relative importance of health outcomes (RIO) which are often obtained through utility elicitation research. A transparent and structured approach to present synthesized RIO evidence and the certainty of this evidence is needed. This study aims to adapt the summary of findings (SoF) table to describe the RIO.

Mashup Score: 0Methodology over metrics: current scientific standards are a disservice to patients and society - 2 month(s) ago
The academic world quickly responded to the covid-19 situation, and produced a staggering amount of research publications. Whilst nobody would disagree that we need organized collaborative research efforts to study disease prevention, management and treatment, the reality is that large swathes of research (including pre-prints and peer-reviewed articles) of covid-19 is of poor quality, and this mirrors the quality of medical research in general [1,2]. For example, more than 230 prediction models have been published for the diagnosis of covid-19 infection or for predicting prognosis in infected patients [3].

Mashup Score: 1The Role of Scoping Reviews in Guideline Development - 2 month(s) ago
Systematic reviews have long been seen as critical in the development of trustworthy guidelines. However, as newer synthesis methodologies such as scoping reviews become more common, there is a need to discuss the potential role of these methodologies within guideline development. This article aims to summarize and provide examples of the role of scoping reviews in guideline development.
