Dr. Veiga has extensive experience in the field of radiation protection and environmental and medical radiation research, with specialized expertise in radiation epidemiology and second cancers. She currently supports medical radiation initiatives studying survivor cohorts treated with radiotherapy as well as studies of diagnostic radiation and cancer risk.

Dr. Mille’s research interests center on computer simulations and metrology related to the delivery, detection, and dosimetry of ionizing radiation in medical imaging, radiation therapy, radiation protection, and homeland security.

Choonsik Lee, Ph.D. develops methods and tools to estimate radiation dose from medical exposures, including treatment and diagnostic tests, in order to generate reliable data for use in epidemiological studies of ionizing radiation and cancer risk.

Keith Griffin is helping to establish the computational dosimetry methods needed for future epidemiological studies on the use of radiation in medical procedures, as well as for the atomic bomb survivors at Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

Dr. Sergio Morato Rafet contributes to projects focused on Monte Carlo simulations and Deterministic Transport codes to calculate organ dose in radiotherapy, diagnostic imaging, and nuclear medicine, under the mentorship of Drs. Matthew Mille and Choonsik Lee.

Dr. Drozdovitch’s main scientific interests include radiation dosimetry and dose reconstruction methods and analysis of uncertainties associated with radiation doses.
