Mashup Score: 10Artificial Intelligence and the orthopaedic surgeon: a review of the literature and potential applications for future practice: current concepts - 5 month(s) ago
Over the last two decades, the application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to the field of surgery has developed exponentially, with the number of PubMed search results for “artificial intelligence” more than doubling between 2019 and 2021, according to Chen et al[1]. The surge of interest in the orthopaedic applications for AI is also noticeable[2]. The number of total publications and citations whose title, abstract and/or keywords refer to the field of artificial intelligence in orthopaedics has grown by a factor of ten between 2017 and 2021[3].

Mashup Score: 5
Core muscle injury is a debilitating condition that causes chronic groin pain in athletes, particularly common in soccer players. The condition is characterised by pain in the inguinal region and can lead to a significant number of absences from high-intensity physical activity. It is caused by repetitive overload without proper counterbalance from the abdominal muscles, hip flexors, and adductors in susceptible athletes. Surgical indications for core muscle injury consider cases where non-surgical treatments have not provided sufficient relief.

Mashup Score: 24Classification Of Elbow Stiffness - 5 month(s) ago
Stiffness is a clinical disorder that affects the patient’s function of the entire upper limb. Many classifications systems have been developed for elbow stiffness based on the plane of motion, severity, etiology, prognosis or anatomical location. A new classification, the Stiffness types and Influencing Factors (S.T.I.F.) Classification System, is proposed as treatment algorithm to guide the surgical treatment and the preferred operative approach (open or arthroscopic).
